By working together in one organisation our business units are able to make the most cost effective use of the Department’s ‘in house’ resources providing a value for money, quality service to the people of Guernsey.
Central Services
Our key goals at Central Services are to co-ordinate the work of the business units from a strategy and policy point of view and ensure that services are provided efficiently and cost-effectively.
In addition much of the work we do at Central Services helps support Guernsey’s vital infrastructure. We are responsible for managing a rolling programme of improvements across all 300 miles of the Island’s roads, drainage, solid waste disposal including landfill and recycling and liquid waste disposal.
We also act as Receiver of Wreck and are responsible for the ongoing maintenance of Alderney breakwater.
