Saumarez Park

Saumarez Park is one of the Island's main social venues and centrally located in the Parish of Castel.

Saumarez Park

It hosts numerous events throughout the year, including: the Guernsey Friends of the Anthony Nolan Trust Easter Egg Hunt; the Guernsey Classic Vehicle Club Show; the Old Guernsey Market or La Viaer Marchi and the North Show and Battle of Flowers.

The largest public park in Guernsey, it is very popular with families, with many facilities for young and old. Attractions include:

  • a large adventure playground for toddlers to teens
  • the National Trust of Guernsey Folk Museum
  • formal gardens including a rose garden
  • a Japanese Fishing Hut, pond and Japanese walk
  • collections of plants from the Far East including camellia and bamboo
  • tea rooms and bouncy castle

Access should not pose a problem for wheelchair or pushchair users as the Park has tarmac pathways with gentle gradients. There are RADAR w.c. facilities and ramps into the tearooms. If you have any concerns about provision for disabled access then please do not hesitate to contact us on Tel: 717200.

As well as being an important social venue, the Park and the adjacent Saumarez Nature Trail also provide valuable habitat for a wide range of wildlife and are sympathetically managed to maintain their rich biodiversity.

Opening times

The Park is open all year round from dawn until dusk and are free of charge (except when certain events are held when there are charges for parking and entry).
